Heavy Metal

Mit ihren letzten beiden Alben boten Iron Fire solide, aber trotz alles andere als überragende Unterhaltung. Das ändert sich zwar mit „To the Grave“ nicht, trotzdem gefällt mir das aktuelle Werk um einiges besser als die beiden Vorgängeralben.

Wieso mir „To the Grave“ um einiges besser als „Revenge“ (2006) und „Blade Triumph“ (2007) gefällt, kann in einem kurzen Satz erklärt werden: Das Album wirkt einfach ausgesprochen frisch. Denn obwohl Iron Fire immer noch geradezu stoisch dem True Metal ABC frönen, vermag „To the Grave“ mit seiner gekonnt umgesetzten Klischee-Songkost durchaus kurzweilig zu unterhalten. Als Beispiel hierfür kann der Titeltrack dienen, der von Pathos nur so strotzt und jeden True Metal Krieger wohl dazu animieren wird seine Fäuste kämpferisch in die Höhe zu strecken. Jeder Möchtegern Verteidiger des wahren Metals wird an diesem wie auch an allen anderen Songs auf „To the Grave“ seine wahre Freude haben, was in keiner Weise abwertend gemeint ist. Weil Iron Fire nehmen im Vergleich zu den Knallchargen von Manowar ihre Klischees immerhin ernst und verarschen den Hörer auch nicht mit irgendwelchen selbstverliebten Ego-Trips. Darum kann an dieser Stelle für den Genre-Freund eine Reinhörempfehlung für „To the Grave“ empfohlen werden, da man solide und unterhaltsame Kost geboten bekommt.
