Das Donnergrollen wird lauter und der Schatten, den die kommenden Ereignisse vorauswerfen, zusehends länger: Am 16. Januar 2009 (Europa: 19. Januar, USA: Ende Januar) veröffentlicht Deutschlands wichtigste Thrash Metal-Formation Kreator ihr neues StudioalbumHordes Of Chaos, ein Kraftpaket mit rigorosen Thrash-Attacken und gewohnt intelligenten Texten über Selbstbestimmung und die Gefahren moderner Kriegspropaganda. Schon im Januar 2009 werden Kreator auch wieder auf große Europatournee gehen.Hordes Of Chaos wurde im Berliner ´Tritonus Studio` unter der Regie von Produzent Moses Schneider aufgenommen. Schneider ist für seine frische und besonders lebendige Arbeitsweise mit Bands und Künstlern wie Beatsteaks oder Tocotronic bekannt. „Wir haben bewusst Moses als Produzenten ausgewählt, um die Basic-Tracks der neuen Scheibe live im Studio einzuspielen“, erklärt Bandleader Mille Petrozza. „Es ist das erste Mal seit Pleasure To Kill, dass wir wieder auf diese Weise arbeiten. Das neue Album reflektiert zu 100% die Bühnenqualitäten der Band. Anstatt jedes Detail per Computertechnologie bis zur sterilen Perfektion auszuloten, wollten wir diesmal eine möglichst energetische Produktion abliefern. Das ist uns mit Hordes Of Chaos zweifelsfrei gelungen.“ Gemischt wurde die Scheibe von Colin Richardson (Slipknot, Bullet For My Valentine, Cradle Of Filth, etc.) in London.
Das neue Studioalbum wird in drei unterschiedlichen Versionen erscheinen. Die Jewel Case-Edition umfasst die regulären zehn Songs des Albums, in der Deluxe-Version gibt es zusätzlich eine Bonus-DVD mit einem von einer Berliner Filmemacherin in Super 8-Qualität stimmungsvoll in Szene gesetzten ´Making Off`. Als dritte Option umfasst die so genannte Ultra Deluxe-Edition neben der CD ein T-Shirt, ein sehenswertes Photobuch und die Bonus-DVD als extended version.
Schon im Januar werden die Kreator-Musiker Mille Petrozza (Gitarre, Gesang), Schlagzeuger Jürgen ´Ventor` Reil, Bassist Christian Giesler und Gitarrist Sami Yli-Sirniö zusammen mit den Bands Caliban und Eluveite ihre zweimonatige Europatournee starten.
